We have been blessed with two recent opportunities. As some of our readers have noticed, I have been invited to be a volunteer moderator on Muxlim.tv. The Muxlim team are very dynamic and have been very gracious. It has been such a fun experience, alhamdulillah. Being an admin and good friend of the Muxlim team has it’s perks; already I have had 4300+ on my channel. Two videos have hit more than 750+ views. Check out the IslamCrunch channel as well.

More recently, I have been asked to join as an admin on Imam Zaid Shakir’s blog team. Not only is this a prestigious opportunity to work (again) with a leading intellectual, I get to work with Expression Engine! EE is a content management system and blog platform that I have always wanted to dive into.

Dave Chappelle + Unity Productions + Allah Made Me Funny Comedy = lots of laughs, plenty of entertainment and abundant reminders. After he caused a stir in the entertainment industry by suddenly leaving a $50 million dollar deal, Dave Chappelle has been more vocal about his faith. Now with this recent announcement, his faith should not be an issue of speculation. When we heard from the Allah Made Me Funny camp that Chappelle was on board, we scrambled into “PR” mode. Alhambra Productions has just announced that they plan to release a new CD set by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf in the late spring of 2007. Titled “The Alchemy of Happiness by Imam Al-Ghazali”, this set was recorded during the Rihla journey in 2006, organized by the Deen Intensive Foundation. We have several friends who participated in the Rihla who have praised this class that Shaykh Hamza conducted. For more information on the 2006 Rihla, read this blog. We have been blessed to listen to a sneak preview of this audio set and we have to say that Shaykh Hamza is in the zone. Very profound material.
