SeekSacredKnowledge.com is a new site that launched today. This site is a continuation of the Haba’ib group on MSN. Initiated by Sidi Khalil Moore, SeekSacredKnowledge is an expansion of the MSN group. Thus, the Message Boards seem the be the main feature on the site.

Quoting their home page, Seek Sacred Knowledge is

a central location for seekers of scared knowledge from all around the globe to come together and share their knowledge, experience, tips, and advice, and to ask questions of one another, all in the spirit of lending a helping hand and giving back to the worldwide community. Mecca.com was introduced to us by a fellow web developer and activist (Thanks Amine!). Mecca.com’s goal is to unite online Muslims and to provide a variety of services. Some services include a branded email account, branded interoperable instant messaging, forums and quality travel offerings for Hajj, Umrah and other Middle East tours. We recently discovered a very good translation of a transcript of Shaykh Hamza Yusuf speaking at last year’s BBC World Service’s In Praise of God conducted in 2006. This is for all the Malay speaking readers: Scholarly Masterpieces.

His overwhelming magnanimity of character led to a mass conversion among the citizens of Mecca. Even Abu Sufyan, his archenemy, embraced the religion of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. In the months that followed, almost all of Arabia dispatched representatives to swear allegiance to this Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and to enter in the faith of Islam. In a period of twenty-three years Muhammad, peace be upon him, had succeeded in uniting a feuding people trapped in cycles of violence into one people with a sense of destiny and a mission that would transform the world.
