About time Yahoo! started something, they were sitting on this biggest unused social network to exist (all those yahoo accounts). Lets see how this web app matches to the existing players.

Surely part of the problem is that social networks exist as 'walled gardens'. If I am on Orkut, it is not possible to easily add my facebook, myspace and other social networking friends and profiles.

Unlike medium such as SMS or email, where interoperability exists to a greater or lesser extent, the plethora of social networking sites means diversity dilutes rather than enhances.
